Feather-Edge
A fast-setting (20 minutes), cement-based, polymer-modified compound used to smooth interior surfaces (from 1/4” down to a true feather-edge) prior to the installation of a variety of floor coverings such as ceramic tile, VCT, sheet vinyl and carpeting. FEATHER-EDGE is a fast-setting, polymer-modified, cement-based, patching compound which provides a smooth, true feather-edge finish (when applied by trowel) over a variety of interior substrates prior to the installation of floor coverings such as ceramic tile, VCT, sheet vinyl and carpeting.
USES and ADVANTAGES
• Provides a smooth finish prior to floor covering installation.
• May be applied from a true featheredge up to 1/2”.
• Can be used over concrete, wood, terrazzo, ceramic and quarry tile.
• For interior use only.
• Exceptional bond strength.
• Mixes easily with just water.
• Mold and mildew resistant.
MIXING
Every 10 pounds of Feather-Edge requires 1-1/2 quarts of clean water. Place the clean water in a container then slowly add the powder and mix to a smooth, trowelable, lump-free consistency. The use of a drill mixer is recommended. If mixing by hand, mix vigorously for 2 to 3 minutes. Just prior to application, the mixture should be stirred again. The pot life is approximately 10 minutes. If surface skinning occurs within this time, remix before using. Do not add more water.
